CAVING
Join River and Earth Adventures for an underground experience you will never forget. Explore this top secret non-commercial cave (no sidewalks or electricity) with gloves, helmets, high power headlamps, and your imagination. The cave that we go to is truly amazing. Formed in limestone over 550 million years old. You will see much better formations than any commercial cave within hundreds of miles.

1 cubic inch about every 100 years is how long it takes a spelogion (formation) to grow. Now imagine seeing formations over 60 feet tall and spanning nearly 200 feet. Wow!

Expect to see amazing formations both large and small.

Wonderful mostly organic deli-style lunch is provided at the cave.

The day begins with a mid-morning meet time at our Valle Crucis location (we can also pick you up, call for details).  The drive to the cave is about an hour.  We are usually in the cave 2-4 hours.  We typically arrive back in Valle Crucis around 5pm.

About the cave: Worley's Cave
This cave consists of over seven miles of large rooms and narrow passages. This is an ideal cave to get introduced to the interesting and adventurous world of caving. This trip is acceptable for a wide range of ages and abilities. Worleys’s cave, near Elizabethton, TN is one of the largest caves in our region.

Explore rooms like the Hobbit's Hallway, the Fairy's Ballroom, Tombstone, Giant's Causeway, Thin Floor Room, the Hall of Masks, base camp, and the bermuda triangle. You will be in awe of the cave.
